Introducing Web Design +AI

I’ve spent the last few weeks testing what AI website builders can and can’t do – not skimming marketing pages, but actually building sites with them. I wrote up that process here: the disappointing Divi AI attempts, the surprisingly-not-so-different ZipWP/Astra AI builders, and where things finally started clicking once I connected an AI agent directly to Breakdance Pro visual builder.

That trial run wasn’t just curiosity for its own sake. It was research for something I’m now ready to properly offer: Web Design +AI.

What is it?

Web Design +AI is a new way of building websites that combines the speed of AI with the finish of an experienced designer – built on WordPress, using and intuitive visual builder (Breakdance Pro), not a locked-down proprietary platform you can never leave.

The details:

1. Private dev build – every project starts on a secure staging environment, well away from your live domain.
2. AI drafts the site – layout, structure and first-pass copy, generated in a fraction of the time a from-scratch build takes.
3. Personally finished by me – every AI draft gets reviewed, refined and polished by hand. This is the part that actually matters: catching the details AI alone misses, fixing what doesn’t quite work on mobile, making sure it looks and functions like a professional site should.
4. You review and approve – you see the finished result before anything goes live, with room to request changes.
5. Migrated to your live site – handled by me, safely, with minimal downtime.
6. Domain, hosting and email support, if you’d like it – so you’re not left to sort the technical side alone.

Why this, and why now

The AI website builders currently making the loudest claims tend to fall into one of two traps: they lock you into their own platform (no WordPress underneath, so you don’t really own your site), or they hand you a bare-bones editor that’s nowhere near as intuitive as a proper visual builder once you actually need to make a change.

Web Design +AI sidesteps both. Using WordPress – the platform powering a huge share of the web, with the plugin ecosystem and long-term flexibility that comes with it. And it’s built in Breakdance Pro, a genuine drag-and-drop visual builder, not the plain Gutenberg block editor some “AI-powered” WordPress builders quietly hand you afterwards.

You get AI’s speed on the first draft, and a real person’s judgement on everything that draft gets wrong.
